Source-of-truth principles
- LACITY tourism roster is the source of truth for weekly farmers markets. Cross-check before publishing.
- Eventbrite for specialty events (flea, makers, night markets). Verify dates the day before — they occasionally shift.
- Venue websites for daily venues (Grand Central Market, Olvera Street, El Mercado). Spot-check hours weekly.
- Instagram/Facebook for closures and last-minute changes. July 4 specifically — markets sometimes close or shift hours.
- What we don't include: out-of-scope cities (Santa Monica, Culver City, Inglewood, Pasadena, Long Beach), unverified markets, or markets we can't confirm via at least one primary source.
